Day 19 of my 30-paintings-in-30-days of November.
This was my last little "bonus" demo at my workshop in Wimberley TX this week. I found myself wondering how different the same sunset might look on the black surface that I usually use on sunsets. I played around a bit more with this one, and added a little hint of reflection in what looked like a stream on the ground as the painting developed. Here's the other sunset, done on a gold and terra cotta underpainting:
