So I'm going to do it! A 30-in-30 month of Daily Paintings for June! I've been putting it off for way too long. My last 30-in-30 was January last year. I had been doing November for quite a while but missed 2019 completely.
I still don't think I have the time for this, but so what! No excuses! It feels SO good to complete a month of paintings, that I've made a new Facebook Daily Painting Challenge group, and would love if you want to join and paint your own month (or week, or whatever length of time you can set for yourself) of daily paintings with us!
This squirrel I had underpainted a while back, and pasteled today for my first day of June. Enjoy a gif of progress images here!

Wildflower Field #35
This was the first of the three wildflower paintings I did in my "Wildflower Interpretations" Paint-Along earlier this month. This is on UArt paper, 400 grit, with an alcohol washed pastel underpainting.
I had fun creating this little one-minute speed video...

Wildflower Field #36
"Wildflower Field #36" (pastel on Canson, 8x8 inches) bid or buy here
This is the second little painting from last Saturday's Paint-Along. This one on regular Canson Mi-Tientes paper in an olive green sort of color. I hadn't worked on Canson for quite a while. I had forgotten how softly subtle it can be.
See some progress pics on my Patreon page here.

Wildflower Field #37 - And an Important Announcement!
This painting was the third (and my favorite) of three paintings in my last Paint-Along, "Wildflower Interpretations," where we tried out a field of wildflowers on various surfaces, and it was interesting to see how the surfaces affected the look of the paintings.
Watch a short speed video of this one on my Patreon page!

Smoky Bun (Warm Fuzzy #74)
Warm Fuzzy #74 - "Smoky Bun" (pastel, 12x6 inches)
This standing bunny was the star of my Virtual Open Studio on Tuesday this week. I had just got my second Covid vaccine and was feeling a bit slow, so instead of working on one of my overdue commissions I took it easy and had my VOS attendees pick which warm fuzzy underpainting to pastel!
I just finished a GIF of Smoky Bun's entire painting process... see it here!
"Smoky Bun" (pastel, 12x6 inches) will be at the Carriage House Gallery this Saturday for the Boerne Art Waddle. I might make an online buy link if he doesn't sell there.

Waddlers
"Waddlers" (pastel, 12x9 inches) buy here
This painting started as a demo in a virtual workshop for the First Coast Pastel Society, and was finished during a recent Virtual Open Studio day. These ducks will be showing at the Carriage House Gallery this Saturday (May 8, 2021) for the Boerne Art Waddle. A fun time!
Enjoy this 2 minute slide show video of the Waddlers painting process here.
