Well, the time has finally come that I'm reusing titles.
Here was my first "Shaggy", from 2011:

Today's Shaggy is really Iris the highland cow (Thanks to Frances of the Garden Gallery!) which I've painted three times now. But honestly, could there possibly be a better name for this face?

Don Curious

"Don Curious" (pastel, 8x8 inches)  $375 framed

If you haven't noticed, I've been naming the donkeys with the sound of "don-key" starting the name. I might have pushed it a bit on this one, but he does look curious!

This one may be slated for my show Beauty of the Beast at the Rockport Center for the Arts (May 14 - June 13, 2015) if he lasts long enough!

On another note, I have exciting news! My work was recently chosen for the cover of the Special Pastel Issue of the popular french art magazine Pratique des Arts! With a little help from Google Translate, I ordered some extra copies from their ordering page, and they arrived at my door a couple days ago!

That's my work in the center spread, accompanied by a very nice article (which I haven't deciphered yet) titled Beautiful Beasts.  ...Très approprié for my upcoming show, and showing "Bull Profile #1", which will be included!

Squiggly

Since I'll need some small ones in my upcoming show, and I don't know how many I'll have time to make, Squiggly is going right into her frame and will not be on auction.

I kinda went Fauvistic on the color here!

Darby

This may be my last auction item for a while. Darby was the last remaining underpainting from my last batch of dailies before I decided that my upcoming show (at the Rockport Art Center) would be all squares and circles. Now everything I paint will be targeted for the show. I'm trying to plan a layout for the gallery and I've determined I need about 12 more works by May 9. Only problem is, people keep buying up the paintings, which keeps changing the layout plan, and adding more paintings to my to-do list! Ha! Good problem to have, and I'm very thankful!

Domino

"Domino"  (pastel, 12x12 inches)  $575 framed

Taxes are done, but other obligations of life keep nibbling on my time. I have managed to paint a few things this past week however! This was one I had started months ago and had set aside. I'm glad it was delayed because I think I'm better now and I like how she turned out!

Domino is going right into her frame and might be in my upcoming show Beauty of the Beast, at the Rockport Center for the Arts, Rockport TX. The reception is May 16 and the show continues through June 13, 2015.

 In the end, I added another spot above her right brow for more expression...

Patches

Here's another new favorite that sold last weekend. Meant to post this earlier but taxes kept me busier than expected. Not only that but now I'll have to pay estimated income tax quarterly throughout 2015, ugh. And the first payment is April 15. So back to the computer to log in all my Jan-March receipts... Ah, the price of "success". :/
