A Valentine "Beach Date" Paint-Along! Feb 13

Valentine Beach Date Paint-Along ad

A Valentine "Beach Date" Paint-Along with Rita Kirkman

$20

Join us Saturday February 13 at 1pm CST for a “romantic day at the beach!”

A popular subject from years back, I painted these lovey gulls several times, even once in oils. I thought they'd make a fun Valentine this year as we all like to get outside and enjoy nature!

Register EARLY to have time to prep your drawing! I will send you the Zoom invitation, the reference photo, some surface prep info, some tips that include alternative underpainting methods in case you don't have what I use, and even a line drawing that you can use to transfer to your board or paper in case you don't have time to freehand your drawing.

Here are screen shots from last month's Happy Moo Year Cow Paint-Along, well-attended and enjoyed!

"What's for Dinner?" (and Save the Date!!)

"What's for Dinner?" (pastel, 16x20)

These are two young Brahman calves I can across on my travels. They were up by the fence looking at me. I couldn't resist when one boy licked his lips as if saying to his sister "Hmmm, think she has any treats?"

SAVE THE DATE!

Reception for my Solo Exhibition at the Arts for Rural Texas, March 27, 2021, 5-7pm.
114 N Live Oak, Fayetteville, TX.

Hope to see you there!

Graham (Warm Fuzzy #57)

Warm Fuzzy #57 - "Graham" (pastel, 8x6 inches) Bid or buy here

This "colorful" black, white and gray goat was the result of my demo for the Visual Art League of Lewisville TX last Tuesday. I used some unltramarine blue primer in the underpainting to help me achieve the deep darks in the fur.

The VAL will have exclusive access to the video for a while. See some progress still pics from the video on my public Patreon post here!

Warm Fuzzy #56 - "Hickory" (pastel, 6x6 inches) Bid or buy here

This little Texas Longhorn calf was one my demos from the PSNC virtual workshop last November. Somehow he missed being posted!

I decided to extract the video bits and make a speed demo. Enjoy!

My latest warm fuzzy from Tuesday's Virtual Open Studio day. This little bull is a miniature Hereford, he was so cute, only stood as tall as my chest!

I hadn't done a Speed Video demo recently, so I decided to make one for "Big Little Bull."

It's just the pastel part, since I had this one underpainted from way back.

You can watch the 80-minute full-length recording of the demo for a $10 pledge on my Patreon page here.

Here's how he looks in his frame.
